If you ask my husband, he will tell you that his heaven on earth can be found in San Diego. Every time we kick around the idea of going on a family vacation, he’s always quick to suggest we travel to the land of endless 70 degree days and fish tacos.

In just a few months, I’m headed to San Diego for a mix of work and fun. We’re still trying to figure out if the rest of the family can join me for a work trip turned into a family vacation OR if it will be a solo trip. But in any case, the dreaming and planning for a San Diego vacation with kids has begun! My kids are still little…. at the time of travel they’ll be 7 and 3, which is perfect!

4 Aquatic Adventures To Have In San Diego

The beach! Anywhere we go, the beach is always at the top of our list! We frequently spend time on Cape Cod, but the waves there are small. I know my kids would have a blast chasing the surf and hunting for shells on the beaches in San Diego! The La Jolla Beach looks like the perfect place to spend the day.

We are in the thick of Lego days here, so I know my kids will flip for LegoLand. We’ve been to Boston’s but in San Diego they’ve got a Lego themed water park! My kids are freaks for all things Lego and obsessed with waterparks, so I know this is going to be the highlight of their trip! And honestly, it will likely be the highlight of mine too. Seriously, this is the lazy river to end all lazy rivers.

Legoland

Speaking of waterparks…checking out SeaWorld Auquatica is also at the top of our family San Diego bucket list. As my 7 year old would say, these water slides look epic! He loves water slides just as much as I do, so I know we’d have a great time here too!

We love a great outdoor space and honestly this one takes the cake. My kids will likely spend their time running between the fountains and the playground while I people watch and dream about all of the adventures the cruise ships are going to have!
