Easy Pre Trick Or Treating Party Ideas

Trick or treat time is always one of my favorite days of the year. The kids are excited, their friends are just about jumping through their skin and as an adult, I’m excited too! In the past, we’ve always welcomed a friend or two over for a little party before the big to-do and I’ve picked up a few tricks long the way!

Tip #1: Do all of your shopping on one spot. 

Instead of running here and there and everywhere for your goodies, party food and decor, think of your grocer! My Stop & Shop is five minutes down the road and not only did it have dinner/party food, it also had the decor and treats I was looking for!

Tip 2:  Trick or treaters love candy, but kids are obsessed with picking their own pieces. So go for a variety pack!

Tip 3: Don’t forget to get some allergen friendly things. And keep those separate from the food candy. Can you imagine the joy a child will feel when they come to your house and will actually get to take something that’s safe for them? My nephew has a nut allergy and Halloween is his favorite. I thought of him when I picked out these spider erasers, eye ball bounce balls and Play-Doh.

Tip 4: Go for the wow factor with food. But don’t stress. 

Bloody cherry lemonade? Easy as pie. Lemonade + maraschino cherries + awesome skull straws. Boom. Halloween drinks are festive and fun!

Mummy Pizza? You won’t believe how easy it is to dazzle your guests. Frozen pepperoni pizza + olives + string cheese!

Dessert? Stop & Shop has that covered with apple cider donuts and festive cookies from the bakery!

Little pumpkins and marshmallows in a cup are always a hit. Kids love sugar!

Tip 5: Keep the decor simple! For our party, I used a skeleton banner, festival table cloth, spider web platters, small Halloween guys (ghost, witch’s hat and pumpkin) and white spider webs. I found all of this right at Stop & Shop. I didn’t have to go to a craft store to get cute decor for my table. Easy as pie! (Pumpkin, please).
