One of the things I am constantly on the look out for is where to find a great story time in Western MA. Often times, I use our community calendar to see which library’s have story time on any given day, but I thought it would be fun to add a blog post about it too.

10:00 am: Greenfield Public Library, 402 Main Street, Greenfield, MA

  • Join the happy circle with Kay Lyons at a lap-sit story hour for children age 3 and under (with a grown-up!).  Children’s Librarian Kay Lyons reads books, leads the group in hand rhymes, and uses puppets to teach animal sounds and other concepts to the very young.  Children and grown-ups shake rattles, tap rhythm sticks, wave colored scarves, ring bells, and do knee bounces to simple sing-along tunes that everyone learns together.
  • Go on the loose with Mother Goose!  It’s so much fun!  Each session is 45 minutes, 30 minutes of structured activity and 15 minutes of visiting time.  No sign-up is required and the program is free of charge, thanks to the Friends of the GPL.
