The Hartsbrook Winter Fair near our house has become a tradition for us. It so homey and relaxed. The school is on a large acreage and there are children running about, guitars and folk songs, and a great bonfire.
These horses took our breath away. And we enjoyed a ride with them and their wagon.
Last year, the pony ride was a fail. This year not only did Malone want a ride, he choose the biggest horse they had. It was fun to watch him from the sidelines. Our little bird is spreading his wings a bit.
My favorite part of the fair is seeing Father Winter interacting with the children. He gave Malone a small jewel, which I don’t think has left his sight yet. Currently, it is in his treasure box where he keeps all of his prized possessions.
But if you ask Malone what his favorite part was? He’d tell you it was finding treasures on his own….
And there were plenty to be found.
Treasures from the Pocket Lady. The inside of her cape had tons of little pockets full of handmade trinkets. How fun!
Treasures inside the fairy house. Malone was a bit overwhelmed in here. There were so many beautiful choices. He picked a little pouch (lower left corner) and inside there was another jewel, similar to the one Father Winter gave him.
They have a natural playground that is swoon worthy. Malone spent a lot of time exploring, jumping, and climbing.
Spending time here really reminded me how lovely it can be to slow down. To take a second to remember the beauty of life and art combined.
Happy weekend friends.
