Our tree was up by November 5th. The way I see it, the sooner we put it up, the longer we have to enjoy it. Besides as soon as Halloween was over, Malone was begging to put it up. How could I say no to this face? The rest of our holiday decorations are still in the closet. I want to bring down our NOT elf on the shelf elf. He’s vintage (because, of course I have a vintage elf). He causes mischief/plays hide & seek, and he DOES NOT report to Santa.
I am clearly not a Christmas purest. However, I do believe it is a crime against humanity for the radio stations to start playing their holiday songs before Thanksgiving.
Well, I am thankful Thanksgiving is over.
If it were up to me, we’d be holiday songing it up 24/7 around here. But I try to just restrain myself to meal times and while I’m in the car. I love the old classics. I love the country versions. I love the Christmas albums by people who can really belt it out. If someone has sang a Christmas song while wearing a bedazzled onesie, it is probably in the top 20 of my all time favorites.
It was hard to narrow this list down. Really, it felt like I was choosing between my children at points. I LOVE Christmas songs so much! These are not in ranked order.
- Chanukah by Adam Sandler
- Carol of the Bells by John Tesh and the Christmas Symphony Orchestera
- What Child Is This? by Josh Groban
- Do You Hear What I Hear? by Carrie Underwood
- Silver Bells by Bing Crosby
- Little Drummer Boy by Jars Of Clay
- Welcome To Our World by Michael W. Smith
- Santa Claus Is Coming To Town by Bruce Springsteen
- Little St. Nick by the Beach Boys
- Happy Christmas by John Lennon and Yoko Ono
It was so hard to just pick 10! What is your favorite? Which do you hate?
This is truly embarrassing but I love the Mariah Carey Christmas album from like the 90s. My dad always plays it at his house during the holidays (which also start before Thanksgiving!) and that girl can SING!!! I also have holiday music in the car non-stop and the kids love it.

Mariah Carery is also one of my favorites, I just have too many I love before it. But she’s totally rocked a bedazzeled onesie, so she’s already a winner!
I don’t really have a favorite. Is that odd? I just enjoy all of it. I need to put it on in the house more…my daughter was playing Christmas music in the car the other day.

Sad panda! Really, not a single favorite? I didn’t think this was even possible! I’m glad you enjoy all of them!
Like Allie I kind of obsessed with the Mariah Carey Christmas album, too. And don’t even get me started on WHAM’s Last Christmas. I adore Christmas music, and we have been blasting it non-stop since the all Christmas music, all the time radio station started playing it! :)-Ashley

WHAM. I love them. So much. Top 20 for sure!
I love Josh Groban’s O Holy Night. It gives me chills in a good way. I also love Springsteen’s Santa Claus is Coming to Town. So many to choose from, NJ – it’s hard to pick just one!

It was hard to pick just one, for sure! I also really (weirdly) love Jessica Simpson’s Christmas album, none of which made my top ten!
My favorite is Harry Connick Jr’s rendition of “Ave Maria.” Brutally awesome. It’s hard to narrow down the hated choices, but I’ll pick the Shoes song. You know, the one about the boy whose mom is dying, and he wants to buy her fancy shoes to be buried in? I mean, I know sad things happen at Christmas, but it doesn’t mean I want to be reminded.
It’s like knowing all about nutrition, blah blah blah, but not wanting to think about it while I’m, say, grabbing my third plate at a pizza buffet. There’s a time and a place!
I wonder if that sounds insensitive.

Dude! I completely forgot about Harry Connick Jr! I hearby vote Ava Maria as #11! I hate the Christmas shoes song too. So so sad! And you don’t sound insensitive, it is pretty reasonable if you ask me!
I have a Rosie O’Donnell/Sesame Street Christmas album that I secretly love…

What??!!?? I did not know this even existed, I must learn more about this IMMEDIATELY!
I can’t deny… Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” will always be #1…. I’m a 90’s girl through and through. Stopping by from SitsShareFest (Happy Saturday!)

I love that song a lot! BUT, it gets too over played and I get tired of it super fast! Thanks for stopping by!
I have to say that Silver Bells is one of my favorites. It encompasses all that I find joyful about the Christmas season! I really can’t stand Grandma Got Ran Over by a Reindeer!

Silver Bells is such a great classic! I love the vibe of that song so so much!
Some of my favorite Christmas songs are Silent Night by The Temptations, Favorite Things by The Supremes, This Christmas by Donny Hathaway, Christmas In Hollis by Run DMC, and Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt. Most of these songs are older than I am, but they are my favorites.
