When I met Mike, he told me very quickly that next to his mom’s fried chicken that lasagna was one of his favorite meals on this earth. He loves lasagna just about as much as Garfield does (anyone remember Garfield the cat?)! I love lasagna too, but I am not a huge fan of how long it takes to prepare or putting the oven on in the summer. So, this recipe for skillet lasagna with spinach is a total win for both of us. It passed both the husband and kid test. Sadly, there wasn’t much left over.
I am so excited to bring you this recipe for skillet lasagna with spinach! The start to finish time is under 30 minutes!
Skillet Lasagna Ingredients:
- Homestyle Ragu Thick & Hearty Sauce
- 1 cup frozen spinach
- 2 cups motzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup cream cheese
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 lb grass fed hamburger
- 1 box bowtie pasta
Saute meat, garlic, onion and spinach. While you do that, bring water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to the directions.
Next, add in the Ragu Homestyle sauce, 1 cup of cheese and 1 cup of cream cheese (the cream cheese gives this the lasagna feel). Stir well. Top with remaining cheese and cover the pan for 5 minutes to allow the cheese to melt. Ragu Homestyle sauce is a family favorite. I love that it doesn’t have any high fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or artificial colors. It’s just the good stuff… like the homemade my great grandmother made.
Serve it ASAP! What I love about this is that it can be on the table in less than 30 minutes and I don’t have to turn my oven on to bring my husband all of the epicness of lasagna!
