We are a family who love to travel! We travel in part because we don’t live near our family. And in part because there is just so much to be learned from exploring new places. One thing I don’t leave home without, however, is a Travel Preparedness Bag for kids.
My kids are unpredictable sometimes. At 3 and 7, they do well with traveling. Their favorite places to travel are Cape Cod, Savannah, GA and Niagara Falls.
While we travel by plane and train from time to time, most of our adventures happen in the car. It’s just easier to pack up our van and hit the road. And we’ve found that we like to stop along the way and explore.
I will never forget the first time we traveled and one of the kids needed some remedies while we were away. I never thought I’d miss my remedy cabinet until it was 2:00 am and I needed it. The stores weren’t open! These days, I don’t leave the house without my trusty travel preparedness bag.
Make a travel preparedness bag for kids!
When we get ready for a road trip, I always make two kids’ travel preparedness bags. I keep one in my car at almost all times with just a few essentials and one that we bring into the house/hotel with us.
For our car bag, not only do we keep a few child essentials, but we also keep cleaning supplies in case of car sickness and an extra change of clothes for each kid as well as a bottle of water and an applesauce pouch. It’s not a bag as much as a box that lives in our trunk.
Here is what is in our car box:
- A change of clothes for each kid.
- Baby wipes.
- Bottle of water.
- Applesauce pouch.
- Paper towels.
- Cleaning spray for car seats.
- Plastic bags for soiled clothing.
- Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup 4oz
- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup is simple natural relief for little coughs and can be used for children 12 months and up*. It’s 100% natural and there only three ingredients. It’s everything they need, and nothing they don’t. There are no artificial colors or flavors, no saccharin or alcohol, and no high fructose corn syrup.
When we pack our travel preparedness bag for kids that comes into the house/hotel with us, I usually pack it from our remedy cabinet. It isn’t a special stand alone like my car bag.
Our travel preparedness bag for kids that is brought inside is just a little bit different.
Here is what is in our travel preparedness bag for kids:
- Thermometer
- Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup
- Little Remedies® Gas Relief Drops
- Applesauce pouch
Little Remedies® Gas Relief Drops are a safe remedy to help ease gas, pressure and bloating and works in minutes. There are no artificial colors as well as no alcohol, saccharin or parabens.
