Summer doesn’t mean the learning stops! It just gets more fun. One of the most sure-fire ways to combat the summer slide is to READ READ READ. Take a look at these summer reading programs 2017 that will reward your kiddos for cracking open a book this summer! Reading is a part of our everyday life at home to begin with, but in the summer time we amplify it even more. Lucky for you (and me), there are a lot of great companies out there that want to reward summer reading. Here’s a look at the ones we’ve found so far for 2017.

Barnes & Noble Summer Reading For Kids (All Ages) Read eight books and write about each book in the downloadable summer reading journal and get a free book! Here’s more info.
Scholastic Summer Reading Challenge (All Ages) This year’s theme is Happy Camper: Take a Reading Adventure. Record reading minutes all summer along and earn virtual prizes, plus be entered into a Klutz Books sweepstakes! Here’s more info.
Book It! by Pizza Hut (All Ages) Pizza Hut has partnered with Candlewick Press to develop summer reading activities, available for download from Pizza Hut’s website.
Book Adventure with Sylvan Learning (K-8) Read, Click, Win with Sylvan Learning this summer. Readers can earn prizes for reading by taking quizzes and redeeming their points. Here’s more info.
