Can I tell you a secret? Even though I’m Jewish, I LOVE holiday lights. I ooh and ahh at every lit-up spectacle this time of year, and get just as giddy as my kids do when they see a house that has gone ALL OUT. So, of course, I made plans to see the Holiday Lights at Lake Compounce in Bristol, CT.  I planned to take them this past Sunday, but alas, it was not to be. One of my kids woke up in the morning feeling not so hot, and by the end of the day, she was just done. So, what is Holiday Lights at Lake Compounce? Well, the entire park is literally covered in lights. For starters, Holiday Lights at Lake Compounce features the state’s TALLEST Christmas tree, which is 100 feet tall,  and is COVERED in lights.

There is a light show every half-hour at the main gate, with tens of thousands of dancing lights, set to holiday music. Your ticket to Holiday Lights at Lake Compounce includes a ride on the North Pole Railway, caroling, balloon animals, story time with Mrs. Claus and more! There’s even a limited selection of kiddie rides open (weather-dependent). Plus, there are fire pits everywhere to keep warm and food trucks selling warm food. For an extra charge, you can also have photos taken with Santa.
