Last week, I was a guest at a baby shower. After we ooh’ed and ahh’ed over tiny baby clothes and played a few silly games, we were asked to give the mom to be some advice. While the other guests said things like “sleep when the baby sleeps” and “there is no such thing as holding a baby too much,” I went for something a little different. I gave a little sisterhood of the moms advice. And I said to her, “It doesn’t matter how your baby is dressed, the old ladies at the grocery stores will say he’s too hot and doesn’t need a sweater or he’s too cold and needs a hat.  Just smile and move on. After the baby is born, write his birth story as soon as you can because you’ll want to remember everything. And finally, buy Depend® Silhouette® Active Fit* Briefs for Women. Now that you’re a mom, they’re hyper useful for so many reasons.”

I got similar advice when I became a mom. But along the way, I forgot. It wasn’t until I took my kids to the trampoline park for the first time that I was reminded of my friend’s advice to me. I’m going public and admitting that I have experienced bladder leakage.  As it turns out, incontinence is more common than I thought it was. Did you know that over 65 million Americans experience bladder leakage? And that half are under the age of 50? When I shared my first experience at the trampoline park since having a baby with my mom friends they told me I wasn’t alone.

“It happens every time I sneeze, or laugh too hard. I experience bladder leakage when I throw up or chase after my kids.”

The next time I took my kids to the trampoline park, I was ready with Depend® Silhouette® Active Fit*. They have a low rise, a thin design for complete comfort and come in a new moderate-absorbency brief. The package has both black and beige, which goes well with just about everything in my closet.

The kids had a blast at the trampoline park. We have a new one that just opened up near by and my kids want to be there 24/7. Can you blame them?

There are no pictures of my jumping at the trampoline park because I have mastered the jumping selfie yet and Malone was too busy playing to practice his photography. What was great was that I could just focus on being a mom enjoying the trampoline park with my kids- I didn’t have to worry about my incontinence. I may or may not have impressed my kids with a flip or two. When I was a kid, I was a gymnast and some of those moves just don’t ever leave you.

I have a friend in my life that has a toddler and just welcomed her second child. I thought that instead of bringing her a typical baby gift, I’d put together a little basket that will help her keep up with a busy toddler and newborn. I spent a little bit of time brainstorming what I wanted to get- I wanted to include things that would be super useful and promote a little bit of self care too.

I picked up a few of the items at brick and mortar stores. And I ordered a package of Depend® Silhouette® Active Fit* Briefs for Women online at Walmart.

It was easy, discreet convenient, and delivered right to my doorstep. Walmart also has a site to store option, which would have been great if I needed to pick up other things.

In her package I put a pretty package of sticky notes, pens, a small change purse, a weekly shopping list for her fridge, a notebook, a mason jar style water bottle with reusable straw, and a package of Depend® Silhouette® Active Fit* Briefs for Women. To tie everything together I picked up a cute little basket that she can use in her home, instead of a gift bag.

To put this gift basket together, I first put in the Depend® Silhouette® Active Fit* Briefs for Women.

Next, I added the water bottle.

Finally, I added the paper products and coin purse.

I dropped of this gift basket to her over the weekend, when I brought a meal for her new baby too. At first, she didn’t understand. But, I shared with her my trampoline story and then she got it. As I was leaving she whispered, “I’m so glad you told me.” That made my day.

What you actually need when you're chasing a toddler and have a newborn!

What are some things you’re so glad another mom shared with you?
