We are not a hide veggies in food kind of family. Instead, we like to model healthy eating habits and find fruits and vegetables are kids like. This post about a toddler approved green smoothie recipe is brought to you today by Stonyfield and Oxo Tot. Affilate links present.
In the past, I have given you tips about how to feed your toddler without losing your mind and those are still true. Eat the food you want them to eat, don’t talk about food negatively, and don’t sweat it. As a result, both Lola and Malone love a great variety of food and their favorite greens are broccoli, celery, cucumbers, spinach (uncooked) and lettuce. Lola also loves green peppers, but Malone is still on the fence.
In the mornings, one of their favorite breakfasts is a smoothie. I use frozen berries and to them, it feels like milk shake or something. I love them because they’re an easy way to get breakfast in their bellies before they have to go. Today, we had some spinach left over in the fridge and I thought it might be fun to make green smoothies. In full disclosure, I let the kids know we were going to put spinach in them and they were on board.
Toddler Approved Green Smoothie Recipe
Toddler Approved Green Smoothie Ingredients And Method:
- 1/2 cup whole organic milk
- 1 banana
- 1 Stonyfield YoTot organic yogurt (Strawberry Banana)
- 1/2 cup frozen organic strawberries
- 1 cup organic spinach
Place ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
I put Lola’s smoothie in an Oxo Tot twist top water bottle. She has a tendancy to spill and I wanted her to be able to take it with her and not have to worry about my couch.
Both kids really liked this green smoothie. Malone declared that he liked it even more than just our normal smoothies.
I am not a smoothie lover the way my kids are, but I have to say that this toddler approved green smoothie recipe was also mom approved!

Cute! My kids love smoothies.
It’s just a matter of coming up with a creative way to sneak in the spinach without my anti-veggie kids seeing it…
